The last decade has seen a steady increase in total incidents, with 40% more calls in 2017 than 2007. This trend presents challenges to our department, namely ensuring rapid response, an adequate number of responders, and in-service apparatus. Our current staffing model dates back to the 1990s. Over the course of this past weekend (12/2 and 12/3), you may have noticed that crews from Rossford Fire, Northwood Fire, Perrysburg City Fire and Perrysburg Township Fire participated in live burns at an acquired structure on Glenwood Road. Friday, October 27th, 2017 – Crews were in all the elementary schools for the Firefighter Phil program which delivers an interactive fire safety message through magic and hand puppets. This is an annual program that is funded through all the participating businesses in Rossford.

On Monday, October 9th, the Rossford Firefighters Association will be hosting the Annual Open House at the Rossford Fire Department (133 Osborn Street, Rossford Ohio). Snacks and beverages will be served for all! For the kids, activites include a bounce house, a fire safety smoke house, a kids firefighter challenge and a small house with simulated fire  that kids can throw water at.
